VN Ren'Py Unluckily in Love

Unluckily in Love follows Yuel, a twenty-one-year-old in his final year of university whose life is already stagnating: dull routine, no real friends, fading interest in his subject. Then his father dies, his mental health collapses, and the only person he can turn to is his cool and competent older cousin Tavi. Tavi is everything Yuel isn't: cheerful, outgoing, irreverent. He decides to cheer Yuel up. Yuel, unused to kindness, finds his feelings for Tavi turning sensuous fast.

Built on 2DCG art as a gay kinetic novel with no branching choices, the game runs about 90k of text (4-6 hours), with detailed character and background art, a custom OST, and the tone of a sweet but heavy BL story dealing with grief, incest between cousins, and Yuel slowly learning what it feels like to be wanted. Ebi-hime keeps the writing sharp and the emotional weight earned.
